Web Based IRC Chat
Update: So everything has gone extremely well! What we have done is setup a new area called PHPFusion IRC which is accessible at http://irc.php-fusion.co.uk. From there you can choose which applet you want to use. Few quick notes: Mibbit does not require you to edit or open any ports on your firewall and should work behind a corporate firewall where as PJIRC will require you to make sure you have port 6667 open. We will be setting up some tutorials over the next little while on how to actually use an IRC client if you wish. Otherwise the web clients should be more than enough for you. Any questions let me know. Details for those that know how to use IRC Network: irc.freenode.com & Port: 6667 & Channel #phpfusion Cheers EDIT: Please note that people are not in the channel 24/7 the busiest hours are during the day UK time. If no-one is around, feel free to keep the chat open and chillax! People will eventually respond, we dont sit there and watch the channel 24/7 waiting for people to join.

PHP Fusion Official Documents and NEW CoC
PHP Fusion Management and Crew have been reviewing policies and procedures documents as of late and revamping them. One of the first documents to come out of that is the new Code of Conduct which all community users and guests will be expected to follow. These are the guidelines that the new Moderators will uphold to the letter. Several other documents will be published shortly such as National Support Site Guidelines and Regulations and more. If anyone has any questions what so ever please do not hesitate to email either KEFF or myself. Our emails are our usernames @php-fusion.co.uk The new CoC can be downloaded here: Official Documents EDIT by KEFF: MT hereby ask all owners/admins of our NSS's to have a look at the document located here, called NSS Application. This is for already existing support sites, for updating staff purposes, as well as for new applicants. We look forward to have these submitted as soon as possible from all of our existing support sites. If there are any questions regarding this, please PM me. Cheers PHP Fusion Management Team

New Support Forums
As it appears of the forum overview, we have launched 10 new support forums reserved for the upcoming release of PHPFusion Core 7 Edition. These are currently visible to members only. Postability is currently preserved staff, until the new moderators have been appointed. We endeavour continuously to add some information to the forums. Please keep in mind that PHPFusion Core 7 Edition is still beta - hence why it is not officially supported and you are still expected to post issues in the dedicated beta forum. [UPDATE] On another note, we please ask ALL developers and this includes staff, to restrain from posting SVN zip packages to the public. PHPFusion 7 has not yet been officially released and therefore should not be released as such in any package. All developers should be using the SVN. Thanks -Management

PHP Fusion HelpDesk - ALPHA TRIAL
Starting today we are launching a new service called the PHP Fusion Helpdesk. This helpdesk will allow users to create a ticket to be addressed by the PHP Fusion Staff. While this makes it easy for the staff to answer support requests it adds alot of work for us. With that said before creating a ticket the following guidelines must be met: 1. You must have searched the forum for your answer 2. You must have made a post in the forum if your search resulted in 0 results 3. Your post must be 24 hours old with no replies or atleast no replies with the answer your looking for 4. When creating the ticket you must copy and paste the link to your thread in the ticket so that the support personnel can review it and others can benefit from the answer. 5. Support at this point in time is for the PHP Fusion Core only 6. PHP Fusion Core 7 .. IS NOT SUPPORTED. All support requests regarding v7 will be ignored and deleted from the helpdesk system. No matter how simple the question. http://helpdesk.php-fusion.co.uk Please remember that this is an ALPHA trial meaning we may decide to remove this system if abused by the public. If all goes well we will eventually add more areas of support. We will in the future offer paid support options once the staff has decided how we will go about it. Any questions can be directed to me personally. * All staff please read the post on the crew site.

Celebration
Dear friends, users and fellow Fusioneers. Today is a day of Celebration for many of us. Over in Canada they celebrate Canada Day. I'm sure that's important for our fellow Canadians. Over here at the main site we celebrate a yet bigger occasion for all of us involved in the fine art of using and developing PHP Fusion. Today we congratulate one of the cornerstones of our fine community on his birthday, Jan Mølgaard from Denmark. Also known as janmol. For reasons of discretion we are not at liberty to reveal which birthday he's celebrating, let's settle with the fact that not many, if any, guys his age are so young, and energetic as he is. The cofounder of the Danish Support Site, the author off the PHP Fusion Manual and the Primus Motor of our staff, he has proven himself to be a good, loyal and true friend, not to mention his skillful and inventive solutions to many problems encountered during the time he has been involved. Ladies and Gentlemen, friends and admirers, Your Royal Highnesses, I raise my glass for Jan, a Great Dane in the true sense of the word! Cheers!

Site Transfer complete
Thanks to Sheldon PHPFusion UK is now hosted on a dedicated box. We feel this was the only option considering the problems we experienced at Thinkhost and Servage. Fair game to Servage as they did try to provide extra resources to our account but it just wasn't enough to cope with our traffic. Please note that the database was transferred early on Thursday so some posts and user accounts may not have made the transfer. We can only apologise for this minor inconvenience, but it was the only way to prevent service disruption. I'm positive that we now have enough resources to allow our continued growth.

Site issues
Sorry about the intermittent outages over the last few days. At the moment I'm not sure whether it is a restriction on the server or an issue somewhere in PHPFusion's mysql queries. I and my team are working to resolve this issue as soon as humanly possible whilst keeping the site running as best we can. The issue is Servage limits the number of queries to 50,000 per hour and this site is over shooting the hourly quota at peak intervals, once the quota is used up we have to wait until the next hour. It is understood that this limit is used to prevent one site from bringing down the entire cluster. We may need to seek a bigger host if the problem persists.

Support Issues
First things first we need to address a few issues. As of recently we are getting more and more requests to help with modified code. While we the staff would love to help you we must focus our attention on those with default installation problems and then move in from there. Once we deal with those issues we can focus on other issues. We are at the moment prioritizing what needs to be dealt with now and alot of the restructuring and R&D has for the most part been taking the most of our time. I need to stress again that if your issue can be dealt with by contacting another admin instead of Digi you should do so. Digitanium is extremely busy working on version 6.00.400 which will represent a large step forward in several areas, which we will keep secret until its released. If you have an issue either send me a PM or email me at sheldon@php-fusion.co.uk Update: Along with this are a few modifications to support. All Mods and Infusions discussion will now take place on www.phpfusion-mods.com and no longer on this site hence forth. This is to keep cross site posting to a minimum, reduce the amount of support requests as well as keeping everyone with similar interests on the same site instead of having to visit several.

Trojan attack
As you may be aware a number of PHPFusion sites were attacked on Thursday by means a trojan. I spent the best part of two hours on Thursday evening trying to regain control of the situation here at php-fusion.co.uk. I temporarily disabled all administrators and changed my password (all admins have now been restored). I can only apologise for any inconvenience caused and am doing my upmost to discover how this happened. It's believed to be linked with an unreported incident on a now closed site (Beta Fusion). This attack affects Windows users only. Microsoft have released a critical update to address this serious issue and all users are strongly advised to update their systems. Thanks to AmyLee, here are direct links to the relevant patches: Windows 2000 SP4 | Windows XP | Windows XP x64 | Windows Server 2003

Part A of Fusion Community Restructuring.
Well its the new year and work has begun. Digi and I have been talking about how we should go about things and what needs to be done. First off we need to get the support staff going and getting support back on its feet. With that said the entire Support Team is asked to report in to their new forum which they should have access to (if you didnt already). The new additions to the support team from a few weeks ago(AmyLee, bbene, HaCK3r, Matanor and Yoda) are asked to send me a quick email to sheldon[AT]php-fusion.co.uk With that said the next step is I need a few more dedicated people who are willing to help out at the PHP Fusion Mods site and here as well but primarily be PHP Coders and of course community leaders. I will be accepting proposals to help out via my Fusion email address as stated above. Thats it for now. UPDATE: Dont have many PHP Coding skills? But know PHP Fusion quite well. Apply anyhow! Let me know what you are good at and how well you know this CMS.

New year, new ideas
Hi folks, I hope the new year finds you well I've been working tirelessly over the festive period working on several new ideas and improvements. I'm on a bit of a security awareness streak and have been devising a more secure admin protection system which will see the addition of a 16-character hash which will be required by any admin functions. The admin panel is quite secure as it is, but this new idea should really secure things. I'm working on a lot of the admin panels tidying up a few loose ends and optimising a few areas. I have sliced almost 2 thirds off the Panels admin! Experience does have its good side I've noticed a serious lack of mod approvals over at PHPFusion Mods. This can only be put down to the loss of a key member of our crew, Rayxen, who has got himself a full-time job (which is great of-course). I hope to get things kickstarted within the next few weeks, so please be patient as we get things back in order. I would run the site myself, but my loyalty lies in research and development of the core of PHPFusion. I'll keep you informed of our progress. Cheers.

Merry Christmas
I'd like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a prosperous new year. 2005 has been a mixed year for PHPFusion, from the lows of April's copyright conflict to highs of a miraculous recovery. July saw the emergance of a stronger system which has gone from strength to strength. I'd like to express my gratitude to everyone who supported me through those troubled times. Our popularity has reached a grand scale and there's no doubt we'll continue our growth through 2006. All the best!

PHP Fusion UK and Mods Changes
Hi everyone... Alot of you have noticed the lack of support lately, and I apologize for that. The reason is alot of our support staff have become extremely busy due to personal lives and other projects that have come up. The dev crew has taken a major blow due to this and we will be doing some major restructuring this Holiday Season to make up for this. Over the next 2 weeks I will be looking for new support leaders, admins, and leaders for the PHP Fusion Community. I am not asking for people to come forward and tell me they are willing to help out, as I will be singling out certain individuals and asking them myself. What I am looking for specifically are those who know the PHP language very well and those who are "community leaders" and are good with people. So in a nutshell bare with us as we make some changes over the next little while. We havent forgotten you
