From the upgrade notes with the V7 RC1:

Quote

UPGRADE FROM V6.01.1X
Before you upgrade we strongly recommend that you backup your files and your database as PHPFusion 7 is a major update compared to its predecessors. You need to follow these instructions precisely.

1. Version 6 code is not directly compatible with version 7. You must either update any mods, infusions, panels or themes before upgrading OR acquire a version 7 compatible update. It is recommended, however, that you disable all 3rd party code to avoid any problems.

2. First you must upload the upgrade script from the folder named 'upgrade v601x' to the administration folder of your site.

3. Login to your site as the Super Administrator. Under the System Admin tab of the Admin Panel, click on Upgrade then click the button marked Upgrade. YOU MUST follow the upgrade through a number of steps, the upgrade process will complete only when you see 'Database upgrade complete'.

4. VERY IMPORTANT: Since this release contains a number of structural changes, some elements of your site will not work properly until you have updated all of your files. YOU MUST upload ALL of the files from the files folder.

5. After completing the above steps, you need to chmod the folder images/photoalbums/submissions to 777.

If at all you are any doubt please feel free to ask one of our support sites for help, there are plenty of knowledgeable users in our community who can help or advise you regarding the upgrade process.

Errr - are we missing something here???

At what point do we FTP the new source files for v7 from the php-fusion-7-00\files folder????

I have numerous tables modded on my site like forums, articles etc , How do I get the tabels back to the v6 core. I cant do it through Site Back up in Admin panel because databases are to big doing it one by one is still to big, If I were to restore the database through phpmyadmin that would restore the full site with the modded forums and stuff.

HELP PLEASE??

5. After completing the above steps, you need to chmod the folder images/photoalbums/submissions to 777.

Is it just the actual folder we need to change to 777? What about files in the folder and subfolders?

OK - it's not too clear in the upgrade document and neither is your answer...

The upgrade doc says:

Quote

5. After completing the above steps, you need to chmod the folder images/photoalbums/submissions to 777.

...which implies you should only CHMOD the submissions folder to 777.

What about the files contained in that folder?

after last step, all files/folders that require chmodding which readme says should be chmodded, without them, script can't work properly, so you also shuld check other files/folders that require chmodding

Oiii!!! Don't hijack my thread!! :( :D

Oops - think I've broken my site!

I've just tried to set a v6 theme which obviously isn't compatible with the new v7.

How do I set it back to a v7 theme??

I'm getting the error:

Quote

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare opensidex() (previously declared in /web/htdocs/www.leesainsbury.com/home/themes/Aztec/theme.php:164) in /web/htdocs/www.leesainsbury.com/home/includes/theme_functions_include.php on line 192

Matanor (our theme guy) will have a guide finished soon. :)
Until then, the nice thing in v7 is, that you can just delete the theme, and it'll auto detect another theme. :)

Delete the v6 theme and then look into your DB and change the settings there..

@Slaughter:
Read what I just wrote... :p

v7, checks if the theme exists, and if it doesn't take one that does exist. :D
So no need for changing the DB. :D
