PHPFusion 8 Status

There are some alpha/beta testing v8 features being released, just keep your eyes peeled or scourge through the development forum.

Alpha status now. Still developing new core features. Drastically improved over v7 functions. Won't get github running yet. Thanks.

A couple questions you may be able to answer. Will there be any significant addons created being merged into the release of version 8? How difficult with custom modifications will it be to convert over to 8 from 7?

I will post a Development plan shortly that will give answers to many questions.

1, Significant is from a user to users scenario.
2, Depends on the magnitude of your customizations.

I plan to release both articles and news infusion first to dev release so the coders will catch up on the API. Compare the workflow and analyze the new coding structure for approval guidelines.

Also, from 7 to 8. If you are not going to use 8s feature, then don't need to change anything. 8 will infuse 7 with limited functionality. You will only have what 7 can do. It depends on your interest. Do you want to know whats new on 8?

Follow the roadmap task we are doing on the development forum, or wait for me to document a complete tutorial to make a custom app for php fusion later. I'm still waiting 2-3 components to complete before doing it.

We will see the PHPFusion v.8 this year?

That sounds like something we should be able to pull off ;)

The Development is going strong and making progress.
We changed a lot in what to do with PHPFusion version 8 and that's why it´s taking some extra time.

Please note that Core items are the important ones, we have like a total of maybe 75% completed counting Infusions and total work and disregarding "other".

Since it have taken this time, It´s better that we do it as good as possible rather than disappointing people.

Naturally we also have some ideas of how much more extra time we think is needed.
We do have a clear vision, unfortunately anything can happened so for now I keep it between me and hien.

the time is 55%. Does this mean that it is going forward?

Indeed it does, the percent are for the whole current Roadmap, some items there are not needed to be ready for V8 such as conversion scripts, we are in fact further a head than that as I mentioned above.

I understand and I thank you for the clarification. We look forward to version v8. What you do is a wonderful thing. Mamta hope that soon it will see the light of day.

We will post a news item on how it is doing and what we have done.
But in short, the progress is constant and stable.
