Hello everyone!

Until this very day we decided to stay compatible with PHP4 because not everyone migrated to PHP5 and we wanted to be able to offer updates to all our users. However, time has passed and the hosting services have evolved. It is very likely that the number of PHP4 hosting services are now much lower, but we would like you to participate in this survey and let us know what PHP version do you use.

For people less technical, please keep in mind that PHP and PHPFusion are two different things. PHP is the raw material and the tool chain, and PHPFusion is the house built with those materials and tools.

Question: How can you find out your PHP version?
Answer: There are several ways to do this.

1. Go to Admin Panel -> System Admin -> PHP Info and the first thing you should see on top of that page is the PHP version - something like PHP Version 5.2.13

2. Preview the following code in a custom page:
<?php
echo "My PHP version is: " . floatval(phpversion());
?>

Please use the poll on the right side to choose your PHP version.

Notes:
1. Those of you who use multiple versions but they actually need both, should only vote for their oldest PHP version.
2. If you are stuck with the old PHP4, please tell us why.

Don't! :)
You can still use php-fusion with PHP 5.2.x, so why bother to go back to php4.

Our czech support PHPFusion (phpfusion.cz) is working on PHP 5.2. My virtual server is working on PHP 5.3.2. Our users generally are using PHP 5.2 and 5.3.2.

Well... it's good to see only 5% are using PHP 4 any longer, but it's still early to wrap this up. We are expecting more members will add their vote for their PHP version.

Just in case they can also use PHP 5, they should choose it as default because if the numbers will stay at such a low margin we will highly consider abandoning PHP 4 so we can offer a better core by default, which is important for the majority. Many thanks to everyone involved so far! ;)

Beside of 1 site, all my other sites are running on 5.2.xx.

One of the sites are using 4.4.2-1.1. This site is hosted by a Norwegian host: www.active24.no - So for this 1 site I'm stuck with 4.4.2-1.1 until the old fart upgrades to something newer.
