Upgrade Failed - 9.03.110 to 9.10.00

I have a personal website running php-fusion for many years. Currently stable and running 7.02.07. English locale. On a second testing server (hosting provider), I copied my site and successfully upgraded 7.02.07 to 9.0. This was very anxious moment! The site looked destroyed, but switching to a new theme and some edits, gave it a brand new look. After that I further upgraded to 9.03.00 and sequentially upto 9.03.110.

Now my many attempts to upgrade 9.03.110 to 9.10.00 have failed. Two problems.
1) The database details are not being auto-populated during the upgrade process. The install.php is asking for all details and writing new tables into the database. For some reason the installation is not able to read the contents of config.php. When I filled the details and submit, I get an error.
2) The server is throwing an error "Unable to create config_temp.php. Please check CHMOD for root directory (G:\Plesk\Vhosts\Mywebsiteurl\Httpdocs) and try again." My fusion is running in a subfolder (httpdocs\Subfolder). I have CHMOD all folders, including httpdocs to 777, but the same error appears.

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

If you see "Unable to create config_temp.php..." then entire problem is in chmod, that's it. PF tries to create new config file but it fails because of incorrect permissions. V9 creates config_temp.php during install/upgrade process and old config is renamed. Well, this step can be removed in future I'm not sure who and why added it.

This guy also had something weird with chmod https://www.php-fusion.co.uk/infusion...d_id=40773.

This is not a problem in PHPFusion itself, but on the server.

BTW https://www.php-fusion.co.uk/docs/php...-upgrading
If your site is version 9.00.00 and a new 9.10.00 is released, you can download the latest PHPFusion 9.10.00 version and upgrade directly to this version.

You can also directly upgrade from v7/v8 to the lastest v9.10.

Mark your sub folder and check recursive / inherit, set all to 777 ( Including subfolders )
Once complete put everything but writable back to read only.

Dear RobiNN and Falk
Yes, the entire problem was in the CHMOD. The Plesk control panel in my hosting provider was not setting the CHMOD correctly for some reason. Managed to get around the problem after playing with it for a while. Now my fusion is updated to 9.10.00 and to 9.10.10

Thanks a lot!!

Also thanks for the tip that I can upgrade directly from 7.02.07 to 9.10. I will try this out.
I will purchase the CRL license shortly.
