Setting up custom background in NEWS

Hi,
We have multiple installations that we are using on three different servers. We are currently trying to combine four sites, (using different servers and domain names) that will all end up being linked together using the same menu bar.

Currently one of the sites that we are switching over to PHPFusion has certain html pages containing layers of text and images on top of a full page background image.

So far, we are having difficulty trying to convert that html page over to a "News" story and display the background image.

Is this something that can be done internally within PHPFusion or do we have to simply place the story in a different section of a website and link to it?

We are using the magazine template and version 9.03.90 on the site, however once we have everything organized, we plan on upgrading all of the sites over to 9.10

Thanks for any ideas on how we can use a background image on one news article but not every news article.
