I did a new install of version 9.03.90 on a test site to check it out using Softaculous and everything seemed to go well.
Then I did a ‘clone” and moved the site over to a different domain name, under a sub folder. As we were starting to load some new data to the new clone, I realized we were were unable to add new admins. I also discovered many other problems, such as not being able to remove some of the default check marks for “Tables with multilanguage content.”
We also started getting theme errors, using the “AdminLTE Admin Theme © 2021 Created by RobiNN and Almsaeed Studio” as well as repeated errors showing the following codes.
Undefined index: article_cat_language
articles_cat.php Line: 75
article_submit.php Line: 52
articles.php Line: 214
I finally ended up deleting that clone and created a new clone, which worked out just fine.
Next, we tried to create a clone of the clone, “this is a policy we generally use to move bare bones site setups over to multiple domain names and on different servers, including some managed and shared servers.”
That is when I discovered that a majority of the time, we could not even log into the clones and it didn’t matter if the clones were on the same domain name, or a different domain name. Even when using the “forgot password” link to change the password, we were still unable to log into the clones.
Since this seems to be an intermittent problem, and we have tried this on multiple servers, we are not sure if it is a Softaculous problem or a php-fusion problem.
Also, since we currently clone 30 to 50 websites per month, this is a feature we rely on heavily and would like to make at least 10 clones of php-fusion to use on multiple servers and domain names. So if anyone has any clue as to why the cloning works in some cases and not others, we would be very interested in your responses.
Thanks
