A few month ago i set up a fresh installation on my site (www.dare2think.dk) and then all of a sudden i could not navigate the site without the system login me out all the time.
Same goes for users.
I can go to places like weblinks and forum... But i can't be logged IN at the same time. Hence that i can't get to my admin part of the site either.
I have been looking at my mysql, but honestly, i have no idea what to look for or how to fix it.

I tried the Danish support site, but didn't get any help... Maybe because someone had no idea what to do.
So i want my site up and running, since i have gotten some really nice stats.
But how on earth do i fix this?

Remove forside.php in both site_url and site_path ( have path empty unless in a subdir ).

But i use that... How will i else show a frontpage i want to show?
If i use the custom that is set up with the system then there are stuff that wont work, as i never has. At least not for me. And the forside.php has always worked fine uptil now.
forside (frontpage) gives me a blank page i can make as i need it to be. But i am up for suggestions!! really really up for suggestions!

And another sidenote... i am still not a huge nerd :D I am still only so good that i wreck stuff and have no clue on how to fix it.

Site opening page is where you put the forside.php in, the paths are only for domain and directories.

Well i am in now... however it still kicks me out sometimes.

So maybe i am confused (Happens!)
In admin the opening page i can put in forside.php?
Because when i do that, it puts it in path in mysql...

Edit: It seems that the system kicks me out navigating from admin to anywhere on the site, and then wants me to log in again, then i can navigate to a new place, but whenever i click frontpage, it kicks me out.

There must be some real trolls in your system if that happens, very strange indeed.
But you handle phpmyadmin well, check these values,
they need to be as follows ,

   site_protocol    http
   site_url   http://www.dare2think.dk
   site_host   www.dare2think.dk
   site_port
   site_path   /
   opening_page   forside.php

I have seen odd cases of this, even when settings are good and no Addons during some environments and certain browsers ( IE ).
One trick can be to use the tickbox save my password, have you tried that?.

I never use IE... I use chrome and firefox. And to test also opera and safari. But never ever IE... :D

I always tick of remember me. But i think it has a mild case of dementia or something :D

Edit. Could it be the forside.php? Should the file have something in it? Other than the standart stuff...?

It kicks you out because your cookie didn't store or the sessions ends. (24 hour tops) If the site paths were wrong, your login wouldn't last a click before your logged out.

There is nothing wrong with the cookie.. we had set it on a limited login timeframe to secure your platform. else, someone use back the browser will be able to modify your user info coz he's still login. usually @ public machines.

There is something else going on here, might be a cookie problem but expire is like 1 year on a ticked cookie a non ticked save is quite some time too.
Double check your links so you do not have some paths going to http:///www.domain.com and some only to http://domain.com, that will cause issues.
You can also toggle and check your settings, Users can log in on different devices simultaneously under Administration > Settings > Users.
If you use multiple devices with this setting disabled, the active one will keep your session and the passive will expire.

Now with a few tests ... It ONLY happens when frontpage (forside) is clicked. Everything else that is a link works fine without logging me out.
So yeah might not be a cookies issue, but a frontpage problem. But i have no clue how to figure out how to fix that. So for now i try and avoid the frontpage link... Or just log in again. Makes things a bit difficult, but as said before, i am no huge nerd.

Edit:
I had my co admin test if she would be logged out. She didn't. Stays in just fine no matter what she clicks... So i guess it is my cookies acting strange.

Yes, your settings should be fine now when we covered that part. Try re-install browser and clear all it´s settings first.
