Since you both agree that its nice iam happy ;)

We decided to go with less rather than more since that is and have always been the core of PHPFusion. A core that a few tried to abandon and look at the community state now.

Keep it simple, thats the motto i work for and i´d like to add clean.

Keep it clean and simple!

That's really important, but also as I mentioned in Facebook group, this theme has some things those could be done more beautifully. For example inputs or buttons, also the top header menu and "National support network" info. And maybe fonts could have different options, like less of spacing between letters.

What I mean is that this theme is good, but it looks like not finished.

Anyway, its always good to see that someone is working on that. Keep it up! :)

We've agreed within MT that we should return to a simpler, more easily understood standard, the way Nick coded his Themes, with php/css only. (As much as can be done...)

Although not being a graphical designer by profession, Domi undertook this task since our theme before this one, Bifrost, was a horrible mess that may have looked a bit more modern but in fact was a living disaster, completely unable to function on a normal setup, it had dependencies on a CDN server, loads of Javascripts and other "fancy" stuff and it took the designer more than a full year to complete it. After it was "complete" with malfunctioning links, forms and other matters, the designer of the theme didn't have the time to fix all of the errors that came with that theme and simply left it as it was, incomplete, tangled up and unnecessary complicated.

Then another graphical designer was asked to do a new theme, didn't deliver and was unable to hold a deadline. Then Domi volounteered to give it a shot, according to the standard MT decided upon and he delivered a fully functional theme that works with any setup, coding based on our standards, at the same time he finished the revamp of the AddonDB and all of this in a very short time... And considering the fact thah he firsthand is a coder/developer instead of a graphic professional, I think the result is marvellous.

Those of you who waste your time to complain... Come on, do something better yourselves! Accept the challenge. Be creative and innovative as opposed of whining and critisizing other peoples work. Domi delivered. WHat about you?

@Creatium
I am open to suggestions and ways to evolve this theme, and you are right it was done in a very short timeline since we needed to have it done.

If you can give me some ready to use "fixes" they will be aprichiated , and ofz also released in new versions of the theme if we approve them.

It´s still not tolate to make this site´s main theme a great community effort by everyone who want´s to contribute.

@team2win
For future reference you can see the first post in all official releaees threads, then click --- View this Addon --- once you are in the addon click the folder to the right with the text above it saying Downloads this Addon.

But now , just click here http://www.php-fusion.co.uk/infusions...wnload=414

Great! I'll be glad to present you in some time with "fixed" version of this theme.

KEFF, we surely dont say this theme is bad or whatever. Just giving some advices on how to improve it :)

Anyway, as I said before, nice work and it's good to see that someone is doing all this.

I've been trying to widen the theme, and just cannot line up the top part. What am I doing wrong? I changed the Theme width from 1000px to 100%...what else do I need to do? Id doesn't have to be 100%, but I would like it wider than it is currently.

I do not want to offend anyone, because I respect the work of people, but I think you just need to stick to contemporary styles, the official site - it's face CMS

it is clear that the previous topics are not completed yet, but they looked really worthy! You can make a good topic in a minimalist style, and preferably the entire width of the screen, ie, "rubber"

@Creatium
I am lookingforward to it.

@afoster
find
if (HEADERLINKS) {
echo "<div style='float:left;margin: 0px auto;margin-left:2px;padding:8px;'>";

and adjust the margin-left:2px; to align the top row, since you make it wider you can also add more links if you want aswell.

@jikaka
To be honest , i havent seen a single usable new theme that we could use within a reasonable timeline here, thats why this was made. I would never use a theme that have full screen size width, there are many logical reasons to not do that.

When i say it was done in a very short time i might define it for you, it was probably done in less than 7 days, with some days to just reflect over things and checking compability.

We could probably have used alot more time to test and optimize, but everything have a limit, the boll is rolling and i think we will endup looking good and alot better then before ;)

We cant have themes that sugar pick it´s users and are only friendly to FF users or Chrome users and we cant have theme´s that will break every normal infusions layout or make it look like there is a universe between the content and utterlines on highrez screens (free max width).

Everything needs to be fair and have a reasonable balance to work for the wide spread types of users we have that uses this great CMS.

what reasons? in the design of the entire width AddonDB would look more comfortable

this is understandable in a short time made &#8203;&#8203;a good job

many CMS pay particular attention to this, I realize that this is not the main design, main is a functional, but really want to PHPFusion grew up in this area

nice to look at sites WordPress and Drupal
http://wordpress.org/
http://drupal.org/
only I do not need to say that it is not CMS, now we are on the other

It´s ironic that you provide examples to sites that follow the same type of ideas i go for while you are promoting for full widescreen, the bad example will show you how bad that look like on a real widescreen.

In other words , both Wordpress and Drupal have fixed widths on their content.
As you clearly can see on my screen who happend to be 1920x1080.

Good example
test.earnit.se/temp/goodexample.png

Bad example
test.earnit.se/temp/badexample.png

The AddonDB was originaly made to be a two column system, an half-assed attempt was made to remove all panels and make it full wide, iam currently reverting all of that.
Most sections there do look good at its current layout for most resolutions now.

@DOMI, at the expense of the fixed width you probably right,
but I meant the rubber imposition as an embodiment of the
and wanted to hear the case against

PS: thanks for "Bad example", fix style, if not difficult to see

Thanks for your response Domi, but changing the Theme Width to 97%, moves everything to the left and the header links that you refer to seems to have shifted to the right. I have adjusted the code as you suggested with no result. You can see the test site at http://www.fredswebportal.com/testsite to see what I mean.

If you restore orginal copy, and in theme.php only change the theme width to what you need.
Then edit functions and set
define("HEADERLINKS", true); to define("HEADERLINKS", false);
Works for me ;)

I had already changed the functions.php to define ("HEADERLINKS", false); with the same result. Evidently it is not going to work for me. Thanks again for your response.
