Not always and not on all avatars, but sometimes the avatar pictures look shrinked:

My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit, Browser: Firefox3.6.

It doesn't show the preview of my image...

Yup !!! You are talking about that shrinked avatar of Homdax in the Image.

Yup there might be some work going on the backend. I am saying this because I saw some problems with the avatar before 2-3 days.

It wasn't showing the Avatars on the page but the Code for it was actually present in the Source of Page. At that time the height of the DIV for avatar was not actually defined so it was not showing it.

So there might be some work going on at the backend....

It's a minor bug caused by ongoing improvements to the theme. It'll get fixed soon.
