Install not working

The problem is server-related and could be caused by this:
[ulist=disc]your host uses suphp. use chmod 755 instead of 777
you have set up some kind of redirection (e.g. via .htaccess) which is not working right
there is some kind of misconfigured security script. contact your host
there is some general misconfiguration. contact your host[/ulist]

Also, please don't hijack the thread.

In order to put it on a subdomain, just put it in a folder on your main server, such as /pfv7

Then make the subdomain reflect that folder, and use a .htaccess file to redirect the user to subdomain.domain.com if they visit /pfv7

i know how to make a subdomain. I have no issues doing that. THat is a disposable login for the ftp and sql. there is NO access to the rest of the server or databases. I am saying that the setup for PHP Fusion always fails to install. I wanted community assistance on this issue for faster resolution. my server logs are not revealing why it fails just that there is a permissions failure. if someone can figure out why it screws up everytime on my server i will then be able to drop/delete that site and all databases and the temporary ftp login. Trust me i made sure all was safe and ok before posting any of that info.

Ok, 1) I didn't mean to offend you when I said "If you do not understand that, I can't be of much more help." - I meant that I have no idea what else you could do - that's how my host works, and not yours.

Ok i ran the installer again after you got the installer to work. now after running setup.php and adding the databases we are back to the main page still saying permissions error. It is so strange that PHPFusion always fails to install for me on the server yet other installers like Dragonfly or E107 don't. I notice that 777 gives a permissions error but settings with less permissions don't. There is so many different combinations to try on the many files. I really need professional assistance with this i believe.

After what I have seen (and tested), I believe it is totally a host issue, not a subdomain or CMS issue. You'll have to contact your host.

let me try to explain this again. that is a sub-domain on MY server. that is why i have no problems publicly posting the info to a disposable website. I really wish it wasn't obscured. I have no problem with the general public having access to a sub-domain that is completely locked out of the remainder of the server and websites. I am asking for assistance for THIS specific site so i can understand how to get another one that haven't posted to work. I am doing both at the same time. this publicly available one is my test environment. If i can get assistance in getting this one to work then I can get the other one working on my own.

the database on it is a single solitary database that does not allow you to see any of the databases, the ftp link only allows you access to the bare minimums to renamed files and chmod them.

I understand all the possible Theoretical things that can happen. Please do not censor me. I will graciously accept anything that unlikely can happen. I don't need to be scolded, I only need assistance from the people who understand PHPFusion best.
