So the release is today. The following is a statement from the Mozilla blog:

We’re just over 12 hours until the start of the long-awaited Download Day! Our Guinness World Record attempt will start when Firefox 3 is officially launched at approximately 10:00 a.m. PDT (17:00 UTC) on Tuesday, June 17th. [ -posted at 21:09, June 16th, 2008


Release is scheduled for:
1:00 p.m. Eastern Time
12:00 p.m Central
11:00 a.m. Mountain
10:00 a.m. Pacific


Your thoughts?
How many computers will you be putting it on?

I decided to see what all the fuss was about and downloaded FF3 this morning. I waited a week to see if anyones PC exploded first, but 8 million [or Homdax and one other ;)] seem to have survived.

It's certainly faster than before, I still hate the way it loads a page, it's a bit like getting dressed with the curtain half open, not a pretty site.
So far, it's behaved impeccably, unlike IE7 which recently has taken to freezing like a rabbit in the headlights.

Anyway, the price is right and text seemed much smoother than the previous edition which was the main reason I didn't use it much.

So, browser default settings it is. :D
