When one registers for the site how long should it take to get e-mail ? or is there something I am missing that I need to set up so that they get thier e-mail hehe..

Make sure PHP Mail in enabled on your server, and no spam filter is active.

Have them check their junk/spam folder for the email... chances are good that is where it went if they can't find it.
