Hello,

Ever since I've had php fusion, my members request for their password feature has never worked.
I have the latest v7 version...

How do I enable this?

Same with email system, that doesn't work either..

www.poker101a.com is my site link... I just upgraded t 7.01.04 package, so the latest lostpassword.php should be there, but I will do as you say in 1 minute.. :-)

Update: the V7.01.04 update DOES NOT have the lostpassword.php in it. I will download the full package to retrieve it. I'll give update once its done..

Ok, loaded the lostpassword.php from the 7.01.04 full pkg. I signed up test member, and no email was sent for signup(i manually add members), then I tried request password and nothing was sent????

First off sort out your Wibya Bar so it's not covering the PHPFusion Copyright.

After your Wibya Bar add two <br /><br />

Seriously?
I did what you said, on a few pages, it seems that bar covers up everything but the very top of the letters... You could minimize the toolbar in far right...
Is this somehow an issue?
I also put in <p> at the bottom...

Ok, I went to main settings and manually put in the copyright notice so it shows up above the other copyright notice. So now how do i delete the normal copyright notice?

Ok, I think I satisfy the copyright, I just added it so it would show up above.
Here's the code for the bar, its javascript, so I don't know how to get a space to add below the bar.
I tried everything, this is why I just added it to the Main Settings/footer area...

<script src="http://cdn.wibiya.com/Toolbars/dir_0641/Toolbar_641562/Loader_641562.js" type="text/javascript"></script><noscript><a href="http://www.wibiya.com/">Web Toolbar by Wibiya</a></noscript>

Can we get back on point about the lostpassword not working?

Ok, so I added this code also.. It stays in the same location.

This is why I just added it to the Main settings section... as you can see

pfft

Either edit the CSS for it, Or edit the copyright function for that !

[syntaxhighlighter brush=php,first-line=1,highlight=0,collapse=false,html-script=false]function showcopyright($class = ""wink {
.
.
$res .= "Released as free software without warranties under <a href='http://www.fsf.org/licensing/licenses/agpl-3.0.html'".$link_class.">GNU Affero GPL</a> v3.\n";[/syntaxhighlighter]

put <br /><br /> after v3.

Can you be a little more specific.. where is css, I'll look in my folders fror it, and possibly change it that way. I'm not understanding why its important.I have it there, unedited and I added another line in Main settings so it shows up also.. It's there twice...

Thanks for the help

Actually I didn't even know there was a way to email all members. I thought I could only pm all members.

I do get an error when I try to pm all members, they receive it, but I get error page.

Any help on correct setup would be helpful
I have left blank any email information as it said to leave blank on the instruction page.

Thank you in advance

if you go to admin tools, and settings under Miscellaneous Settings there is a place to setup your email server. You want to change those settings, then your email problems should be fixed. In order for the reset password to work, you must have the email settings correct. Unfortunately, thats as much as i can provide you with since each email server has its own specific settings which you should be able to find through the provider!

Edit: also since no can seem to help you with the copyright problem do the following -

go to {root}/themes/{whatever theme you use for your site}/styles.css

in styles.css find

[syntaxhighlighter brush=css,first-line=1,highlight=0,collapse=false,html-script=false].main-footer{

/*other attributes here
}[/syntaxhighlighter]

add the following inside the brackets (don't delete the stuff thats in the brackets already just add this line to it
[syntaxhighlighter brush=css,first-line=1,highlight=0,collapse=false,html-script=false]
margin-bottom: 30px;
[/syntaxhighlighter]

so the like for the gillette theme it should look like this:

[syntaxhighlighter brush=css,first-line=1,highlight=0,collapse=false,html-script=false].main-footer {
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 10px;
color: #555;
background-color: #fff;
padding: 5px;
margin-bottom: 30px;
}[/syntaxhighlighter]

do this for any theme that is available on your site.

GMU, when you say setup email information... you mean to setup the username/password using smtp? I have always left that blank due to sendmail enabled, I figured it was enabled, even though I don't know where it is.. I'll check with my hosting company about smtp sendmail settings...

Thank you...

Thank you for the footer info, I was looking for css files, I didn't realize it was within the theme itself, which means, I would have to do this with EVERY theme??? I'll give it a shot later today...

Ok, look, I have placed this 'margin bottom' in the style.css folder in the gillette theme..
As you can see, this did not move the copyright up.. I also put the margin 30px in the news footer, thinking that could be it also.. neither apparently work... ANY other ideas.. Where is this copyright in the 1st place??

Can we now get back to the original problem and question?

The lost password, email system doesn't work.
I spoke with hosting company and they gave me the smtp email address.
However, they isn't a username/password.. so I put this in and nothing still works with regard to the email notification, lostpassword setup..

Anybody have any further advice?
