A other way is to use this modded register.php .
It have been posted on the Danish PHPFusion site.
I'll attached it here. ;)

What it does:
When you go to register.php you'll be forwarded to disclaimer.php, where you have to answer a question:
Are you a SPAM Bot? - [No/Yes]
And then you'll be redirected to register.php. ;)

That's useful, of course. Right now, the problem is the spam that's already posted. That's why this infusion I wrote helps cleaning everything up. :) Let's just hope we'll be safe for a while.

@kneekoo: I now, but I'm so lucky that my site is so small, that nearly no bots have found it. :p

@T-N-Z: Great. But I'm not the man who created this.
Credit goes to... ? Some from the Danish team. - I guess. xD

I'm glad you find it useful. However, I don't see it on your website. I saw the news but that's it.

The most efficient way to use this infusion is to set it to be available to the public. I should've probably write this in the readme files.

Heh.. it seems I forgot to enable it.. I was pretty sure I had done that.. but I did do the preview and it took care of my spammers that I had banned.

Did You consider multiple sites on the same database, differentiated by table prefix?

I used the $db_prefix variable so no matter which site you're running this infusion on, it will adjust to it's DB settings.

That error you posted can't be this infusion's fault. The columns I'm using are:

- last_id
- last_datestamp
- slap_count

This means something else should be wrong. Give me a link if you suspect BotSlap for this issue. Maybe we'll find out what's going on.

I was going to suggest you rename register.php, but I see on your site you've already changed it to register1.php. You could also convert 'Powered by PHPFusion v6.01.11 © 2003-2007' to an image to make it a little harder for the bots to find your site in the first place.

I have updated my post and the information inside the BotSlap Panel archive to include this information:

Quote

WARNING!
Before going through the installation process, keep in mind the following:
A) The installation has two steps: INFUSE, then ADD & ACTIVATE PANEL
cool If you want the best effect, make sure you make the panel PUBLICLY AVAILABLE

I think that's important because if the panel is not activated and visible to the public it can't protect the site. If anyone wants a little update on this one so the checks can be performed manually either from the panel (admin-only) or the Admin Panel -> Infusions, just say the word. I'll add that on the double. smile

For the ones interested, the BotSlap Panel removes the spam generated by the most known spammers of PHPFusion. This is the post with all the details and the attached infusion.

Good luck!

I have made some infusions against the spamming bots :)

Here you can find a mod, which stopps the bots to register on your website:
