smtp account data is only used to login to a smtp relay server, you should be able to have any email you want to get and send mails from.

Hi, been using Gmail since they are in beta, and I did not thought of using them as smtp server. It overrides the Reply to address and The From header as if those emails were sent from gmail.com, so your site email address will be filtered automatically.

Since you have a website, you should have cpanel and can create a email address, no?

The information that you required - https://support.google.com/a/answer/176600?hl=en

Just fill in smtp host using their FQDN relay server and port settings,

For username as -- your-username@gmail.com and input your password.

Hi, the settings are relayed through your hosting company's servers settings. All hosting providers should be answer this question.

Usually, if the credentials work on Mail applications (like outlook for windows) it will work on all php-fusion editions.

you should be able to have any email you want to get and send mails from.

The SMTP data is only needed if your host requires a login to a SMTP server that has that requirement for relaying mails. It has pretty much nothing at all to do with what email you want to utilize as site email.

From our Documentation :

Quote

SMTP Host
SMTP Port : 25
SMTP Authentication? Yes or No , Leave SMTP Authentication empty if sendmail is enabled.
SMTP Username :
SMTP Password :

SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol which is the Internet standard for e-mail transmissions.
You should check with your web host if you do not have a document with correct settings.
