You should be able to do this with an embed code.

Hi, i tried this:
<div align="center">
  <object id="FlashID" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="500" height="251">
    <param name="movie" value="fusion/swfs/bienvenidos 500.swf" />
    <param name="quality" value="high" />
    <param name="wmode" value="opaque" />
    <param name="swfversion" value="8.0.35.0" />
    <!-- This param tag prompts users with Flash Player 6.0 r65 and higher to download the latest version of Flash Player. Delete it if you don’t want users to see the prompt. -->
    <param name="expressinstall" value="../Scripts/expressInstall.swf" />
    <!-- Next object tag is for non-IE browsers. So hide it from IE using IECC. -->
    <!--[if !IE]>-->
    <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="fusion/swfs/bienvenidos 500.swf" width="500" height="251">
      <!--<![endif]-->
      <param name="quality" value="high" />
      <param name="wmode" value="opaque" />
      <param name="swfversion" value="8.0.35.0" />
      <param name="expressinstall" value="../Scripts/expressInstall.swf" />
      <!-- The browser displays the following alternative content for users with Flash Player 6.0 and older. -->
      <div>
        <h4>Content on this page requires a newer version of Adobe Flash Player.</h4>
        <p><a href="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer"><img src="http://www.adobe.com/images/shared/download_buttons/get_flash_player.gif" alt="Get Adobe Flash player" width="112" height="33" /></a></p>
      </div>
      <!--[if !IE]>-->
    </object>
    <!--<![endif]-->
  </object>
</div>

that comes from dreamweaver, some of the code is deleted and no flash movie...it gives the message to update flash player even if you have already updated, this for IE, Firefox and Chrome

[flash]http://www.mysite.co/myfile.swf[/flash] - this works in the coments but not on the welcome section

and this:

<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/cumAH5ox2WU?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>

works in articles, pages, news, etc but not on the welcome section...or am i doing something wrong? is there a better way?

[youtube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGdbtMhVI9Q[/youtube] this doesn't work either

i'm lost...i'm sure there has to be a way...but how? :)

tnx

This path is not good : fusion/swfs/bienvenidos 500.swf
Always remove spaces in filenames.
Try to give the full site path as you would for a youtube video.
I have not tested, but the section do parse HTML so it should work. The BBCode´s are probably not parsed in it.

Hi

i change the name of the file - removed the space file plays ok directly from adress bar

i try with the code i posted befor but with the full adress, http, https, just //and the adress, nothing it keeps telling me to update my flash player, but that isnot the issue since i can also play swf from that same site, and even place them in the coments with the BB codes and the full link.

is there a chance to just allow BBcode links to the welcome area?

tnx again

Yeah you could add bbcode parseing
open
infusions/welcome_message_panel/welcome_message_panel.php
find
echo stripslashes($settings['siteintro'])."\n";

change to
echo stripslashes(parseubb($settings['siteintro']))."\n";

But remove this part from your code and try that first.
<param name="expressinstall" value="../Scripts/expressInstall.swf" />
