Hi all,

I am new to PHP Fusion and have never used it before. I was asked today by a firend of mine if he can use my web hosting to place his PHP Fusion site, I figure I have enough space so why not. However I have an issue, the install gets to step 2 and I get fails for all the folders except:

Images
config.php

I know I am supposed to set the folders to 777 and I have renamed the _config.php to config.php. The question I have is my hosting is windows based not linux, so when trying to set the permissions to 777 in CuteFTP I get an error. I have checked the windows permissions and all the folders are set to Read/Write.

I was wondering if it's possible to install PHP Fusion on a windows based host and if so what I need to do to get this working.

Thanks

O.K, so I take it from the lack of responces that no one knows if PHPFusion can be installed on a windows based host, or if it is possible. Also I take it if people have managed this they are not willing to share?????

Please someone reply and give me a hand, I am trying to save a friend some money here so he doesn't have to buy a Linux based hosting package.

It looks like you didn't upload all the files on your server OR the transfer failed for a number of important files - among which is the /locale/ folder.

1. Please make sure all the files transfer successfully to your server
2. Keep the readme file open while you install PHPFusion so you can consult it whenever you need to understand some details.

Also, if it helps, take a look at our online PHPFusion installation guide.

@Abernus, I would dump CuteFTP and go for Filezilla just as a suggestion. CuteFTP used to cause me problems with false data transfers and CHMOD settings.

Grab it free from here:

Don't give up on PHP Fusion, it's a wonderful piece of kit - been a fan since 2006 and never use anything else. Enjoy!
