you are not the only one with this problem. It tends to happen to me after i hit "preview article", it is certainly annoying and i haven't had the time to debug it yet.

I'm also have problems with TinyMCE and Chrome. Buggy browser. Almost good for everday's browsing and regular activity but still unable to perform well with certain web content. We'll have to wait until Google improves their browser so we can use it for everything (or most stuff) on the web OR simply keep using the traditional browsers - Firefox and Internet Explorer.

I've actually found that chrome handles javascript errors much better than firefox or IE. For every other web application i've built and dealt with chrome will still run javascript even if there are some syntax errors, while FF and IE freak out. And unfortunately, chrome is gaining a larger market share every day so telling people to use IE or FF won't be an option in the future. I hate the say this, but the problem seems to be with PHP-fusion. If you go to the official TinyMCE website all of their examples work perfectly fine in chrome.

The TinyMCE demo is up to date (v3.3.8). The TinyMCE version in the PHPFusion core is not (v3.0.9). I'm pretty much sure that's also part of the problem. But I actually have issues with Chrome on other websites that have nothing in common with PHPFusion. That's why I said Chrome still needs to improve.

Now I don't want to start a debate on how good/bad Chrome is but what's important to keep in mind here is that TinyMCE is just a third party application that we use in our core. The lesson we should learn from this is to release TinyMCE updates more often with our regular updates, not necessarily with each TinyMCE version but at least with those covering important compatibility fixes across various browsers.

well said sir, i didn't even bother to look at the version of TinyMCE being used. Will a newer version be used in 7.01 or will we have to update it ourselves? (I am looking forward to 7.01 cause i think I might be able to resolve my email problem with the new smtp port settings).

Unfortunately, since we are in the RC stadium and have a fixed deadline, I don't want to risk it to upgrade TinyMCE at this time. I'll put it on my todo list for a future version.

Update: since TinyMCE was already upgraded to 3.3.x, so I updated it to the latest (3.3.8).

Happy people, right?

I think this thread has had it. If there's more to talk about TinyMCE in PHPFusion the right place for that is the bug reporting thread. This one is now closed.
