Following the passing away of our founder Nick Jones, there have been some questions over the legal status of the CMS. I'd like to take this opportunity to set the record straight. Under UK law "computer programs" are covered under the copyright legislation as "Literary Works" and as such the copyright will remain under Nick Jones for up to 70 years after his death, to be administered by his estate. What this means is the status of PHPFusion is unchanged, it remains an open source entity copyrighted to Nick Jones managed by the PHPFusion Management Team and as such we will continue as always to protect the copyright and go after violators in the same manner.
So, to the future...
As always, we cannot progress at all without people, there are so many good ideas and future feature requests that we would love to incorporate but, without the necessary people we simply don't the ability to do so. Consequently, we've created a separate Staff site from where all staff and tasks required will be run from. All active staff will be sent logins by PM over the next few days.
Any members here who would like to join the staff can do so by filling out the form, (see link on Staff). We're not looking to replace the work on Dev. Staff will be where all day to day functions including forum support, addon approval, documentation and other general tasks are administered from. All applications will be discussed by the Management Team and the applicant will be sent an email notifying them of the decision. We'll need people with all levels of skill as not all work needed doing is code related. However, a basic knowledge of HTML and PHP would be an advantage.
