Absence delayed
I was supposed to be going away today, but there has been a change of plan, for 24 hours at least, maybe longer. So it's business as usual until further notice. Hospital administrators in the UK really are useless! Update: I'm leaving today at 2:30pm, I'll be back by Thursday or Friday in a reduced capacity and should be back in full working order by Monday.

Away for the week
I'm going to be away for 4 - 5 days from Sunday, I'm going on vacation to hospital, how nice! Not, but hey, it's a break! No complaints there. I've got to get a minor health issue sorted out, nothing serious or major. I should be back by Wednesday, but I'm taking 7 days off officially. I'll be leaving the site in the hands of Rayxen, Sheldon, janmol and KEFF. Please try to be patient, if any coding problems cannot be resolved, then I will deal with them upon my return. Thanks all!

Race against time
Hi everyone. Time for an update, dont you think? Well, we're twidding our fingers at this time awaiting clearance on some code. As I said in my previous post, we want to ensure we do everything "by the book" to be sure that there is no comeback upon release. Unfortunately we are facing a race against time. I'm going to be spending about 5 days in hospital in about 3 weeks. Now this means that we must either freeze development and release v6 within the next 10 days with an upgrade following in June or early July, or face a delay into the end of June. We still have to sort out our licensing, create the distribution documents, brush up a few areas etc. As you can imagine we are all feeling the stress now and are anxious to get PHPFusion back out, but my health comes before anything, and I'm sure you can empathise with me on that. We will know more in around 48 hours, hopefully. Thank you.

New Super Admins
I'm proud to announce that Rayxen and Sheldon have been promoted to Super Admin status. I've promoted them mainly because they are both very supportive to PHPFusion's cause. Rayxen is an incredible tech support aid, whilst Sheldon has helped to provide hosting for a number of users and support sites, including PHPFusion-mods and Beta-Fusion. Rayxen and Sheldon work as a great team together, and I am positive they will continue to be as dedicated as ever to our efforts. Welcome aboard guys!

Upgrade complete
As you can see the 6th generation of PHPFusion is now up and running here at php-fusion.co.uk. Whilst we are confident there are no major problems, you may encounter some small errors, please report them in this items comments section. Thank you for your support.

Site upgrade
The 6th generation of PHPFusion will be brought online in the next 48 hours, this means we will need to close for a few hours in order to move a few files and carry out some database upgrades. The dev team will be testing our sixth internal alpha release later today. Please note there is still a bit of work to do before a beta version is released to our pre-select beta crew. As always we'll keep you posted on procedings.

Mod DB Release delayed
The proposed release of the Mod DB has been shelved due to a number of issues raised by the team over at PHPFusion Mods. As far as I am aware the issue of having multiple Mod DB sites has been widely discussed. Whilst there are many pros and cons for both situations, the overall consensus was to have the one database with multi-language support. The most prominent reason for this is so that all of the mods are in a central location, which has been the aim of PHPFusion Mods from the start. Every mod, mod description, mod page etc will eventually be available in every language (selected by user) and that user can easily download the mod and post feedback either at PHPFusion Mods or at their local support site in their own language. I have to agree that I do think this is the right direction to go in, despite some disagreements from a small minority. I will continue to monitor the situation, but the team at PHPFusion Mods have my complete and utter support. I hope this statement clarifies our goal. Thanks.

PHPFusion Mods Updated
PHPFusion Mods has finally caught up with the latest release of PHPFusion. Our little brother is now running on v5.01 after I completed the necessary updates to the Mod DB code earlier today. It should now be much easier for the admin team to keep up to date.

No news is good news
Hey all, it's a little quiet on the news front at the moment. This is mainly down to me not doing much in the way of coding at the moment. The break has given me a much needed chance to recharge my batteries after what I can only describe as a roller coaster year. As you can see there is a dev log up for v5.02, but there are no immediate plans, and I'd like to assure users it will not be a major update like previous releases. You should see it in a month or two. That's about it really, cheers!

Away for the day
I won't be around much tomorrow (Monday), I've got my 6 month checkup in Staffordshire, so I'll be on the road for the best part of 4 hours, with an hour wait in between, I'll be back at around 7:30pm. However, the trip is always a tiring one so I won't be responding to any technical problems until Tuesday. Health before business!

A steady ship.
For the first time in almost 2 years I've finally been able to start taking a break from development. Over the last 18 months, PHPFusion has gone from an unknown CMS to one of the most sought after CMS's. It has been a terrific challenge which has had its ups and downs, plenty of praise, plenty of criticism. Perhaps the most important part in PHPFusion's rise to fame is its growing group of dedicated of users. Many have supported me from the very beginning, and there are many newcomers every day. I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported me. I'm taking a well earned break from development, maybe a fortnight or a month, then I will focus on improving PHPFusion in whatever way I can. One thing I can guarantee is an extended period of continuity, I feel it is important now to have stability. Future releases will be mere updates rather than have major structural changes. I'm sure everyone will be pleased to hear such news!

Clarification
Hi all, I just want to clarify the reason why I have decided to keep PHPFusion uk running as it is. I'm in no way disregarding the support being provided by both phpfusion-mods.com and beta-fusion.com. I basically want to ensure that the best decision is the only decision that can satisfy our community. Evit, Rayxen and Sheldon will continue in their efforts to build their communities. I strongly recommend all mods to be submitted to phpfusion-mods.com, also remember there is a forum where you can share ideas etc. beta-fusion.com provides a testing team mainly for hard coded mods, and possibly in the future, pre-release testing of PHPFusion. PHPFusion.co.uk will continue to be the heart & soul for support, requests and mod ideas, after all, PHPFusion is the peoples CMS united in world-wide friendship. Now let's get back to work!

Restructuring plan dropped
The proposed idea to separate the web site and forum structure of PHPFusion has now been dropped. The main reason is that the parties involved believe they do not have sufficient time to maintain phpfusion-mods.com and beta-fusion.com. Both sites will remain very much part of the community, but I believe it is best that the structure here at php-fusion.co.uk remains as is. Modsters are still encouraged to submit any mods, infusions or themes to the mod database repository over at phpfusion-mods.com.

A few notes
I'm busy re-organising the structure of this site right now. You'll be able to re-submit your website in the next 48 hours. What I plan to do is categorise the sites using that are running PHPFusion. As part of the deal with ThinkHost you will not be permitted to promote any type of web hosting other than ThinkHost. This is a site-wide policy and affects weblinks, forum posts, avatars and signatures. I hope you will understand this policy.
