PHPFusion 9 RC 3 Status Report
Due to popluar demand, here is a status report. The RC 3 have already had just a little over 80 public issues settled and probably just as many, if not more non public ones simply patched in to the Github. None of the Issues have been serious. The RC 3 version have proved to be very stable with only some minor glitches here and there. A complete list of the publicly patched issues can be found in Fixed issues since RC 3 Thank you for all the reports and testing !

PHPFusion 9 GFX Preview
The release of PHPFusion 9 RC is just around the corner. We have stabilized The 9 Core and most of the concerns we have had with a few things is settled. Basic functionality and some more advanced functionality is currently being fine tuned before we do the release. Additionally there are some candy in the pipeline for the new Atom engine. I will let these images speak for us.

PHPFusion Coding Standards
We started on a PHPFusion Coding Standards section to avoid some confusion now when we are getting close to a stable release of PHPFusion 9. The Standards will eventually be deeply interconnected to our Functions and examples once we have documented Fusion Dynamics, Defender, Geomap etc. The Standards reflects some old Standards that most people used to follow but never really had documented. Some of these Standards were mixed with our Infusion Standards and some is simply how Nick always did. Beyond all that, these Standards is a large mix of how Drupal, WP, Codeigniter & Pear have their Standards. We selected the ones that reminds us most of how we have done in the past from the mentioned sources. This is naturally a work in progress, not all files have been updated to reflect these Standards yet. Most of these Standards will be finalized when everything is documented. Visit PHPFusion Coding Standards for more information.

Version 9 Development Progress
Our Developer team breached 2,000 commits as of 12 hours ago. It is our all time high since the launch of PHPFusion 9 Beta 1. Considering that we launched this version about 6 months ago, it is very pleasing to see how well it is taking shape. In average we are doing no less than 11 commits per day. In total there are about 833,046 lines of code that has been added and 581,391 lines of codes that have been deleted.

Logo competition [ Update x2 ]
We have due to popular demand decided to have a PHPFusion V8 logo competition. We hope that this also compensates everyone that looked forward to the theme competition that we postponed until we have a PHPFusion v8 beta out. The logo can be either with only PHPFusion as text or with PHPFusion text with the number 8 and the atom theme we always had need to be retained. All logo´s we receive to this competition will be regarded as PHPFusion´s intellectual property and free to use. In order for us to be able to approve and start the competition we will need a minimum of four participant´s. Each participant will be allowed to submit two versions of their logo. Everyone interested in this competition need to send their contribution´s to me no later than 2013-09-01. After 2013-09-01 we will start a poll within PHPFusion staff where all PHPFusion staff get´s to vote on their favourite logo. We will close this vote poll 2013-09-15 and introduce the winners the following day. We will have a total ranking between 1 and 3. The winner will receive 50€, second place will receive 25€ and third place will receive 15€. Prize´s winner´s will be paid via PayPal. Thank you everyone for your contributions, we have recived alot of fine concepts! We will accept contributions until 2013-09-01 [ Update x 2 ] We have had equal results in the vote. Because of this we will need to run a vote on top voted logos that share positions. Results will be presented and final after 20th this month!

We will have a Theme Competition!
Greetings! We are preparing the Infrastructure on the 8 site for Themes Submissions and Themes Guidelines, but, before we start accepting submissions, and thus also actually announcing and starting the contest (this may be viewed as a small heads-up) we need JUDGES.     JoiNNN is in, he is our Theme Dev, but I want four more. A total of five Judges. So I need your suggestions for the remaining four (4) Judges.   The person you suggest:   must have been an active member for at least 18 months. must have insight in Themeing and Layout for PHPFusion. must be open for new layout solutions for PHPFusion. Send your suggestion to me via PM. You may not suggest yourself. Other than that all, and I say ALL, members are elegible.   Again, all members are elegible, you may suggest a Dev, an MT, or even me.   You must have permission from the person in question before you submit the name. I will review the names continously and publish a decision when I have at least eight (8) names to choose from (twice as many as needed). I will not decide alone. Maybe even a vote if we have time.   Please do this as fast as possible. I will stop admitting submissions on dec 23, midnight, Central European Time.   EDIT: Again, this is not about coding themes, this about getting someone to take some time to look at the submissions in january. I am frankly annoyed over the off topic ranting and fail to see what is so difficult. Option A: 1. Think of a name 2. PM that person "Hey want me to submit your name for judge?" 3. If answer is yes, send me a pm, if no, no.   If you find this too complex, consider option B:  I will judge all the submissions by flipping a coin. Do this.   EDIT 2 EXTENDING TIME UNTIL NEW YEARS EVE. Thank you, Richard

Dev site down
The 8 Development site is currently down. This has been verified by host. Status messages on Host website indicates that they are having some general problem related to power outages. We are currently facing an issues with several our servers. It looks like a failure of the power in our DC. We are already working to resolve the issue and will keep you updated. The site is down, we/I know why, and we/I know that the host is working on it. UP again!

Status report 02 on 8
Greetings! I am confident. Thanks to the wonderful efforts of PMM and his Team of Developers, Craig and his Infusion Coders, JoiNNN's Teams work with themes and Halissons efforts to gather resources, we may actually have something concrete by Christmas. Now, this is not a promise, it is a careful estimate that we may have a working Beta or even a Release Candidate by the end of December. Our current status is, approximately, 2 new Themes almost done for launch, a third of the Functions in Core code have been converted to Infusions, and about 40% of the planned Core code rewritten. As confidence grows re-coding stuff, it also picks up speed a bit. However, we are also making an additional release of version 7: 7.02.06. Yes I know, calm down, we need to do this. It is mostly security related, we will add no new functionality to PHPFusion, but you must do this update. No new locales are needed, but you may of course want to update the version information, if any, if you do locales for us. Please remember that 7.02.xx will be an upgrade requirement for version 8. The 7.02.06 release will hopefully be available within 10 days, you will be able to download it via link to Sourceforge. Please be careful with any other download sources. Remember to sign up for testing or helping out in diffent areas. All constructive efforts are welcome, you know this, right? /Richard & Christian
